Any issues with that build?

I am hesistating between between motherboards (equivalents for Asus & Giga). I might go SLI and add a Sound card later on. Is it worth the money to go for an Asus RAMPAGE?

Is a 940 worth it if I want to keep this rig for a few years?

Thanks for the help, it's very appreciated.

Considering most of those parts have jsut been released, yes, it should be good for a while. You might need to add some storage space in the future...

As well, alot of us here tend to overclock to get that extra bit of performance that our systems might lack, so that's alwaays an option for you in the future should you find your rig not "up to snuff". It does take some time to find the right overclock, teting, and such, but the extra performance is free...

I don't any major issues you have a pretty amazing setup there as mentioned HDD space might be an issue later on.

Heatsink: Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme 1366 RT CPU Cooler Review

Memory: G.Skill 6GB PC3-12800 Triple Channel DDR3 Kit Review over the corsair

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 X58 Motherboard Review All around solid board it would be the one I would get if I were building an i7 today.

One thing I don't see is a montior have you given that any thought? Do you already have one?

I don't see the 940 being worth the extra cost, simlilar situation to the Q9550 and Q9650 back then twice the price little benefit other than a higher multi and a few hundred MHz.

Regards,

EE

LMAO I knew it...

Didn't remember seeing it at first, but at that moment I felt pretty stupid when I saw it.
