Imo I'd consider the following:
1. Can you pull the trigger on 6GB Kit of 1600 Memory
2. Price of GTX 280's are very good right now, I'd consider this over the ATI
3. Definitely ditch that Antec 900 Case (not for an I7 build)
4. Why go with Tri Channel System and XP 32 Bit.....kind of waste....64 Bit all the way.
Someone on here were mentioning very good price on PC P& C 750W..like an incredibly good price...

1. NCIX.com - Buy G.SKILL F3-10666CL9T-6GBNQ 6GB DDR3 3X2GB DDR3-1333 CL 9-9-9-24 Triple Channel Memory Kit - F3-10666CL9T-6GBNQ In Canada. I doubt he'll need 1600, 1333 should be enough, since he doesn't seem to be doing any high OCs.
2. NCIX.com - Buy BFG GeForce GTX 280 OC Far Cry 2 615MHZ 1024MB 2.214GHZ GDDR3 PCI-E 2XDVI-I HDCP HDTV Out Video Card - BFGEGTX2801024OCE In Canada. Decent price.
3. Case is really a personal choice, so if he wants the 900, then it's his choice.
4. Yep.
5. The PC P&C 750W price was like $100 after MIR. $120 without it, I think. NCIX.com - Buy PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 Quad CrossFire 750W ATX V2.2 EPS12 24PIN Active PFC Power Supply Red - S75CF In Canada.

There's got to be some better choices out thier than the 900 for him, I'm not about to suggest a $300 Silverstone or Lian Li...but I know theirs fellows here with better cases for the same coin. I'm sure they'll chime in!

The P182 then? It's going for $160. NCIX.com - Buy Antec P182 ATX Black Mid Tower Case 4X5.25 1X3.5 6X3.5INT No PS Front USB Audio Firewire - P182 In Canada.

I've had it for a year, and it was a good case. But now, MM all the way.

I love it, but the Antec P182 its less than ideal for an I7 rig. Despite its looks many seem pretty happy with the HAF932 I worked with it recently and it has tons of room to work with and instead of the 900 you could always look at the Antec1200.

The other guys have covered pretty much all other areas no sense in repeating myself, I'll just leave my usual advice of leaving some budget for additional case fans (or better) and look into a good aftermarket cooling solution.

Good luck with the new build and if you have any other questions don't hesistate.

Antec 1200 > Antec 900

In all and every aspect.
Haf would be another good choice but some people do find it a bit to ugly
P182 would work
CM 690 another choice

But yes its personal choice.

Would the 900 be fine though? As im on a budget

And guys its lead me to think about ditching the i7 platform and going for a cheaper E8400, P5Q Pro and 2GB Ram (as im on 32-bit) system. Seems silly not to make the jump to i7 though as im upgrading from Socket A, but im not an enthusiast or anything I just game here and there?

Yeah, you won't need i7. What's your budget?
