Only thing that might drop a little bit is the Phenom II. I'm not sure we've seen it settle at a directly equiv. price wrt the intel chips it competes against, but the difference would probably be $20 at most.

Grab that PSU while you can though... that's easily a $40 deal that isn't always available with a comparable PSU.

true, that why I switch to AMD PII 940.. instead of having 2,4 ghz from the Q6600, I will have 3ghz for the "same" price. ( And still droping )

Now I have to find a Videocard.. I'm really tempted by the GTX260 ( even if all my part would sugest me to go with ATI )...

Both are the same IMO, unless you prefer one brand over the other. Go with whatever ends up being cheaper after taxes/shipping.

I'd get the XFX. Better warranty coverage.

So I'm too lazy to check. Did you get your new build? :P

Talking

I just received the first part minus the HD.. ( was sent 1 day later )

So here's my first impression...

O..M...G! ( sorry about my "noobiest" comments, but it's been a while since I built one myself )

I'm doing right now the banana dance hahaha

The Antec 300 look big and really nice... I just inspected it because there was some holes in the box but nothing touched the cases, no scratchs

I took out of the shipping box the OCZ vendetta 2 heatsink.. It's so HUGE.... Does it will fit??? ( first thing I said to myself... )

I can't wait to receive the rest of my order...

It's always a great feeling opening the boxes, hope you enjoy it. And yes the Vendetta will fit in the 300, I have the same combo...

After looking at all the invoices.. I will probably go with the HIS Radeon HD 4870 750MHZ 512MB GDDR5 PCI-E Dual DVI-I HDCP HDTV Out Video Card
Price matched at 239.69$ from Newegg.ca and with the 10$ MIR... so for 229.69$

So for a total of 883.53$ without the videocard. I can squeeze the 4870 512mb inside... or maybe the Sapphire 1gb for 279.95$ ?

I read the 4850 will be enought for my 1680x1050, but 4870 will help a lil bit.. GTX 260 is overkill for my resolution?

The GTX260 and HD4870 1GB are pretty close to the same performance wise.

The HD4870 512MB is the middle between the HD4850 and the GTX260/1GB 4870.

Sure they are all overkill at the moment but it'll last you longer with new games.

I just found the Vendetta 2 will block my first memory slot :(
I hope with my G.Skill it won't ( I'm thinking about if I add 2 other later )

Link: Amazon.com: ASUS M3A79-T Deluxe - Motherboard - ATX - AMD 790FX - Socket AM2+ - UDMA133, Serial ATA-300 (RAID), eSATA - Gigabit Ethernet - FireWire - HD Audio (8-channel): Electronics

Quote: " Be aware that not all of the larger CPU coolers will work if you fill all four RAM slots. I put 8GB of Corsair RAM and when I initially tried a Vendetta 2 cooler which blocked the left RAM slot. I switched to a Zalman 9700 and it fit just fine. "
