Default Can't use fan controller find me something I can use internally please!

Ok in my H2g0 I have no room in the front bays for a fan controller & very little room throught the case itself. Find me something cost effective that I can use to link all my fans together with or on instead of linking them all together horrible with the molexes. I plan to cut off the molex plugs & just use the 3pin plugs once I sleeve them.

Hey look what I found! lol Anyone ever use this?

NCIX.com - Buy Bitspower X-STATION POWER-EXTENSION I - Male Version 4PIN Molex to Power Distribution Board - UV - BP10543 In Canada.

You realize that board provides a little of everything, right? A few 12V connections, a few 7V, and a few 5V? The NCIX entry isn't very descriptive, but PPC's entry is a little more informative.

Those look pretty darn cool... tempted to get one myself just to try it out.

My only concern is that your feeding this off one rail and if you were to plug that many fans into it.. what would happen...

Hmmm, I dont think that would be an issue. Let's say you got some seriously powerful fans, for example: .75amps @ 12v. Using 7v would use less current, as would 5v for the same fan. And even at the full 12volts - the 12v rail of the average PSU now is at least 20-30 amps or so, so even ten fans running off the same rail should not be an issue. Just my 0.02$.

Yes and when you cut the power down on the fan where does it go? Most times you do this its a resistor to help with that.. I haven't seen very good pics of this and don't know it would handle the extra heat/power.

This is why Sunbeam has HUGE heatsinks in their fan controllers for.

In this case, I don't think there's any resistive undervolting going on, just mix n'match with the 12V,5V, and GND wires. At least, the offered voltages certainly suggest that. So as long as you didn't exceed the PSU's rails/cables, and didn't somehow overdo it on the (12-5)V rail, you'd probably be pretty safe.

One of the guys from another site had 11 38mm kazes 2 pumps & something else all ran off one of these & me sitting here with a 1250W psu only running 7 fans off it don't think I'll have anything to worry about lol.
