My System Specs

Default The Final Build (Good things in small Packages)

Okay, this is the Rebuild of my Current System.
Budget will be 1k+ (Will be selling a lot of stuff I have) roughly to Make this System Work for Me (April probably because of tight finances).
I play games, nothing like Crysis but still to be Capable would be cool too.
I Don't do much Multi-Media on it, just Games games and more games.
The only thing is, I am keeping this Case for the sole Purpose of just doing it.
There are 10000 better cases to set this up in, but, I like sometimes just being Unique.

Current System:
NZXT Apollo Case / Ultra LSP750W Power Supply
DG35EC Board / E8400 3.0GHZ
4GB Corsair Dominator @ 800Mhz
2 Raptor 300Gig Non-Raid
HIS 2600 XT @ 900mhz Stable
iStarUSA Mobile Rack w/80mm AeroCool Fan
3 x Aerocool Xtreme Turbine Fans
MassCool CPU Cooler / Samsung All in One Drive with Lightscribe!

The Final Build!
NZXT Apollo Case / Ultra X-3 850W Fully Modular Power Supply
Asus P5Q-E Green Mother Board (yes, finally no more Intel!)
Core 2 Duo, E8600 3.33GhZ (OC here I come) 1333FSB, 6M L2 ( I got it free so...)
Corsair XMS2 Dominator Memory, 4GIG @ 1066mHz
2 Raptors 300 GiG (Might Raid, no idea how the board supports it yet..)
2 X iStarUsa Mobile Racks w/80mm AeroCool Fan
3 x Scythe S-Flex Fans (or might keep AeroCools depending)
Full WC System (see that section for details)
1 X 4850 ATI Card (HIS or VisonTek, haven't decided)
Samsung Drive!

That will be the Final Rebuild on this system.
After that, I stamp it "DONE!" and close the door to anything else.
Next System will be Brand New Chassis Up, but We'll worry bout that when the time comes.
Again, just as a disclaimer, I know its not the best case to do it in. But, for somethings, I just like to be me!
Thanks to all the advice from everyone here who made these decisions possible!!!
HWC Forums FTW!!!!!!!!!

Best Regards Always,
ST

I got the Asus P5Q-E motherboard as well very good motherboard lots of features. Im using Kets Modded Bios as i felt it was the most stable with my Mushkin Ascent Ram and a very good Overclocker.

Assuming you didn't buy yet, change the RAM to G.Skill or OCZ 4GB kit that's under $60 at the NCIX sale.

Also, you may want two WD Caviar Black 640GB instead of the dual Raptors.

I just re-read your post and updated my below post, I had a blond moment.

Over all your build looks great but heres what I'd recommend;

Sell:
DG35EC Board
HIS 2600 XT
MassCool CPU Cooler
Ultra LSP750W Power Supply
4GB Corsair Dominator PC 6400
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400

Buy:
Asus P5Q-E
ATi 4850/70 1GB
G.Skill PC8000(1000MHz) 4GB (2x2GB)
WD Black Edition 640GB
Corsair TX750 750Watt PSU

Keep/Free:
Intel Core 2 Duo E8600
WD VelicoRaptor 300GB x2
NZXT Apollo Case

Looking good? So far it looks like a great (re)build. As for why I threw a WD 640GB Black in, if you decided to go all Raid 0 with your VelicoRaptors, it makes for a nice high performance back up drive, feel free to take it out, if you don't think you need it. Hell, if you wanted to, throw in another 4GB(2x2GB) kit for a total of 8GB, its cheap enough, even if you'll never really use it.

Edit - Durrr, I didn't see the part about the E8600 being free.

Depending on the chip I can't see a 8400 reaching 4.6+ ghz without crazy voltage.

Where in his post did he say he expected/wants a 4.6GHz OC. Perhaps I'm blind because I can not see it?

EDIT - He got the E8600 for free, durrrrrr.

He said the E8400 can OC as high as the E8600...agree..in some cases maybe, but in most cases the E8400 nees way too much Voltage to get to 4.2 Ghz.

Whats a few MHz between friends.

I fixed my post, an E8400 can clock pretty high, but yes your right, an E8600 can go a bit higher thanks to its better bin and multiplier. My point's moot now thou, since he got an E8600 for free.

Thanks Everyone. Its interesting to rebuild After Only 6 Months of Full Operation on this rig. But at that Time I was strapped and getting new Car instead.
Now I can devote some resources to this Build and make it fly for a change.
I love my case enough to keep it, even though I know I am going to have to get fancy to get it all in there!
If I RAID 0 Chilly, I'll take your advice and get the WD Black Edition for Backup/Storage. I haven't quite decided on that yet.
The Raptors already Exist in the case, so no point letting them go to waste.

I was very Lucky to get the E8600. Long Story, but someone wanted a Quad And got a dual. So, yeah now its mine lol!

I love my Corsair RAm, but I will look into G-SKill.
Unless I go to 64bit XP, getting 4gig should suffice, or Vista for that matter.

TIme will tell.
Thanks Everyone, I'll open a Work Log once I start Sourcing Parts!!!
