Default Need thermal agent - anyone with some extra? (calgary)

Don't know if this is against forum rules but I need some thermal agent (MX-2 or OCZ Freeze).
The local stores just have basic silver stuff which according to a couple reps is about the same as anything else - fail.
Let me know if someone knows where I can get some in Calgary OR has a tube for sale.
else it is another order to burnaby

I don't have either of those sorry.

-------

Who told yah arctic silver was no good ?

It's bs nonetheless.

---------

I've been building thermal assemblies for more than 20 years.

For about 75% of my work , I use MG chemicals silicone TIM.This is about the cheapest pro grade TIM out there , and it works just fine.

Arctic silver's products , whether it's AS5 or ceramique , or ceramique thermal adhesive , always give me improved temps.I've tested it like 25 times.

Just my 2c.

Why not read the following article and decide for yourself:

Between Cold and Fire: Thermal Interfaces Roundup

In the end, they go with Arctic Silver 5 overall....

Yep.

TIM is really over hyped.

If the mating surfaces match well , you can use the crappiest lithium grease around and be totally fine.I've done it lots.

Anything above 'commercial' grade (aka arctic silver /etc/etc) really is just gravy.

If you actually need the highest grade to make it function well (thermally) you'd be better off addressing the mating. (fine heatsink adjustment/lapping etc....)

I use OCZ Freeze, and that would be a long way to send a tube lol!

Braineater is Totally right! All of it is BS.

A nice mating surface, totally precludes TIM!
Actual mounting force outweighs TIM.

I say we, find this TIM Guy, beat the "Crap" outta 'im?
My Delta, idle to load is, wait for it! idle:20-26; Load: 30-35....that's pretty good!
That's without the IHS, however; now that it's time to upgrade.

I'm gonna re-apply the IHS to the proc,+ make it my new NAS at stock speeds.

Buy a new Mobo, Proc., and Ram. Maybe, run it naked and Rock 'on?
