I see so if I set the FSB for 1333 then it should show me 999 in the memory settings.

Exactly. You should have the option to select that. (did you see my edit above?)

That makes sense cause in the Biostar manual it was showing a FSB selected of 1066 (266) these memory speeds make sense.

266 x 2.0 = 533
266 x 2.4 = 638
266 x 2.5 = 667
266 x 3.0 = 800
266 x 3.2 = 851
266 x 3.33 = 886
266 x 4.0 = 1066

If this is true then if I set the FSB to 1333 the following memory speeds should appear if the mem multis are stay the same.

333 x 2.0 = 666 (667)
333 x 2.4 = 800
333 x 2.5 = 833
333 x 3.0 = 999 (1000)
333 x 3.2 = 1066
333 x 3.3 = 1100
333 x 4.0 = 1333

Yep, that looks right. I think you've got it now. :)

So with this information I'm guessing the best bet is to set the FSB to 1333 (333) and drop the CPU multi from x12 to x11 so that I get a closer to the stock speed of the memory. And since the FSB will be running faster the system should post better in Super PI and 3Dmark and in games correct? So would that mean I'd be running a diver of 1:3?

I'm not sure on the actual divider (not even going to try thinking math at 1:30 in the AM... :) ), but my experience has been that higher FSB = better benchmark scores if not better actual gaming performance.

I think this will be a great budget build for me. The colours of the Biostar board will match my orange theme too

So 333x11 will be my goal for the OC. I think it will be able to do it. Do you think I would have to pump for than 1.36v to the vcore to get to that speed?

Dunno, never had a chance to play with the 7XXX chips. (I had a blast with the 1200 though... :) ).

Should be a great budget build.

I'm going to be using the E5200.

What did you get the E1200 up to on air and what was your voltage.

I was thinking about picking one up to do a cheap folding rig with the new XFX G31 board (depending on price) and a 9600GSO

Air... MacJunky's E1200 clockin'&shockin'

Water... MacJunky's E1200 clockin'&shockin'

Actually going to be putting it back under water again on the same board. Upgrade project for my young lad's computer this weekend. (It's been under a Freezer 7 Pro on a MSI board that didn't clock all that well)
