Default How to Build a Modern PC System: Courtesy of Corsair

There are many people out there who think they will quickly go in over their head if they were to build their own system. There are even those of us out there who need a little refersher every now and then since even the most experienced forget something every now and then.

While it may not be using the most up-to-date components, Corsair has one of the best system building guides around.

You can find it here:

How to Build Your Own PC #1

How to Build Your Own PC #2

All in all, it is an excellent guide which will help you set up everything from hardware to Windows.

Enjoy!!!

That was really informative, thanks! I've never really considered assembling a computer before but after reading that I think I might.

I just finished reading through that guide. It is very thorough and really helpful, especially if you have never built a computer before.

Okay, not really. But seriously, that badge looks way cooler. There's SAILS in it for Pete's sake...

Handy guide(s), thanks! Could have used those before I built my first PC I guess though, lol. I need to read more on overclocking and benchmarking and all that too, this is a great start.

Default Help please

On this page: Welcome to Corsair :: System Build Logs

It discusses setting the RAM timings to their correct values, but I do not understand which ones to change. To quote the article,

"It identified 2.5-3-3-6 and 2T, we're going to fix that by going to MANUAL and changing the settings to the 3500LL's rated latency, 2-3-2-6 at 1T:"

I can see that some of the numbers on the page correspond with ^^^those numbers above, but they are not in the correct order. Can anyone clarify this please?
