My System Specs

I'm just as stoked about i7, but I'm holding out a few weeks though, it is VERY safe to say that these prices are going to drop by a lot within a couple weeks; just gotta wait for most of the vendors to get their models out so everyone can get competitive and settle their prices. Now, I've already got my 965 on the way straight from Intel but as far as the mobo goes; I'm going to hold on it for a bit - I have faith my current rig will hold up at least another month or two.

I've been researching and from what I read so far. Core i7 is gonna pwn all. Sure there gaming performance isn't top notch, but in due time it will unleash its full potential. Particulariy in the video editing/3D applications it outperforms the latest quadcores by >%40, so imo its well worth the buy. OMG Reno. I was planning almost the exact same build as you. You Copier! lol, within the next two months! Here's a list of the components I plan to gather to pair with my new Nehalem.

Intel Nehalem Core i7 920 2.6Ghz @ $284
OCZ Game X Stream 850W PSU
NZXT Tempest (already have)
OCZ 3GB DDR3 (forget 6B I don't use a 64bit OS to take advantage of additional ram)
Sapphire HD 4870 X2 (only one card for now. crossfire is too intense for me atm)
Asus Rampage II Extreme
WD Velociraptor x 2 300GB HD SATA-II in Raid-0 Config(expensive but why not lol)
Either the new Dell 30 inch or buy a Samsung 42 inch LCD TV
Either the Asus Xonar D2X (with LED lighted inputs which are amazing in the dark or) or the Creative X-Fi Titanium Series Soundcard.
Asus Triton-81 HSF

I know the two main things that would put a hugee hole in my pocket are the DDR3 Ram which are ridiculously expensive atm and the Asus mobo.

On second thought that Intel Skulltrail mobo is around $650 so $300 for the Rampage isn't THAT bad LOL.
