1242.76 Best price from one site directbuy after taxes (free shipping)
1174.45 NCIX APPROVED price match price after taxes (free shipping)
--------------
$68 less than directbuy best prices.

So they approved all the price matches..
I think there is still $58 in total mail rebates too.

I didn't not have a sound card in this order and it does not seem to be emphasized in the threads I've read. Should I add one?

It's not absolutely essential (on-board will do) and getting a quality sound card might put you over the top for your budget so I'd suggest seeing what you think of the on-board and if you don't like it you can always order a card at a later date.

So I just came across the Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower, and really like the look. I'm considering emailing to ask if they can change the case. The benefit of this case is that it looks a little more sophisticated and has better cooling. The downside is that there is nothing upfront to hide ugly drives, and there is no 3.5" external drive for the card reader..

Thoughts?

There's an adapter included for three 3.5". Cable management on the Antec 900 is lacking, and installing hard drives is a bit of a hassle IMO.
Cooling is great though.

What do you think is the Apollo a better choice?
I know cases seem to be largely a personal preference thing.

I'm not sure about the cable management in the Apollo, but it seems like a decent case.

I've helped a friend build a system in a 900 and it was just hell installing HDDs and trying to manage the cables. In the end, we just zip tied all the cables together. It still doesn't look as good as hiding the cables behind the mobo tray, but yeah.

If you were looking for a decent case, I would suggest the CM 590, or 690, OR just stay with your current one. Some people say that the Apollo looks nearly exactly like the Alienware cases, so basically, its the Alienware look without the Alienware price.

No comment don't know much about hte Apollo but it's like you said it's a personal thing.
I like the Antec 900's cooling but other then that it's a slight bit of a pain to work with, and the LED fan is blinding me at night (not one of hte included one)

I had a blue Apollo (my son has it now), and I now have a 900. If you're concerned about temps, the 900 is the way to go for airflow. It's also better for cable management, if I recall right there's very few places to hide wires in the Apollo. Nice looking case, I just like the 900 better.
