Looks like a pretty good build. But yeah NewEgg.ca's prices are pretty inflated, and their shipping blows.

Otherwise, have fun with it.

Here is the shopping cart. It ended up becoming a little more expensive - this is pre taxes. Everything look good? and anything you would swap out to drop the price a little? I swapped to the Modular PSU and added a DVD burner.

For reference: these are from "directcanada.com"
I'm going to check this order out at NCIX.com

Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 3.5IN 500GB SATA2 8.5MS 7200RPM 32MB Cache Ncq Hard Drive Oem
$73.88

In an effort to reduce the cost of this system, I just dropped the WD HD and replaced it for the above.

The new total pre-taxes is 1191.38 (plus there is about $58 in manf rebates - but I'm not going to count on those).

Anyone see any to reduce this a little further?

You could maybe find a cheaper case but I would not go to cheaper one if you like what you have selected...and most below $100 suck anyway.. Are you sure you want the OCZ Vanquisher and not the Vendetta 2 I know it's twice as much but it would be worth the extra cooling. ...otherwise looking damn fine.

Did you pricematch any of those prices? (There's a link up top of these forums for pricematch).

Also... go for the smaller tube of MX-2. I've got one of those 30g tubes and it's more TIM than I'd use in 5 years building 5 or 6 rigs a year..... :)

The Cooler Master CM 690 is just under $100, and it is a fantastic case for the money.

Don't forget that NCIX will accept all pricematches from DC, and you might find some better prices elsewhere using pricematch. :)

I agree with Steve on that one, that tube is large..

Steve he is on direct canada, no PM on DC only NCIX.

I had a question for you kav, why are you going for a Quad core really. Not saying they are bad, just wanted to know exactly why. You could save up by going to an E8400 which would make that build cost even lower.

Try Pricematching as sswilson said, and ncix, they have deals right now that offer free ground shipping on entire order, and also you could price match so with free shipping your order will definitely be cheaper than Direct Canada really, plus you have more paying options, depending on bank account you could set up your bank account for ncix, so you're just paying money by online banking and no fees are charged and that is if you don't feel like using a CC.
