yeah, thinking about going up to 3.6 ghz max but it won't happen till awhile after I build my rig...need time to research and get used to the system. the rigs strictly for gaming with a bit a surfing and chatting on the side. now i might post this agian in a few weeks. waiting for some inheritance money.

Might I ask where are you getting these parts from ? Also 4870's have GDDR5.

NCIX.com...you can get the gpu for 300 bucks if you price match to bestbuy.ca. and yeah i know, don't know why i put DDR3 tho lol.

Maybe I should go for a modular PSU like the corsair 620W...good idea?

I like modular PSU's, especially the Corsair's. I find the cable management is much easier when you only have to use the cables you need. I had a Corsair 620 before upgrading to my HX1000 and it was a very nice power supply for the money.

awesome, then I'll go with the Corsair 620W modular psu. now I've chosen g.skill PC2-8000 DDR2-1000 ram, should I upgrade to Corsair XMS2 dominator PC2-8500 DDR2-1066 ram along with the ram cooler?

why do you have a hard drive dedicated to the OS? does it improve the performance and speed? also, what's this "raid" thing people do with two hard drives?
