My System Specs

Default Office Build

Hey all, my parents want a new build for their office, and the budget is $200.
Heres what I got so far:

ASUS M2A-VM mATX AM2 AMD 690G DDR2 PCI-E16 PCI-E1 2PCI Video VGA DVI-D Sound Motherboard

AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ Dual Core Proecessor Socket AM2 2.6GHZ Retail Box

Logisys PS575XBK Dual Fan SLI Switching 575W Power Supply ATX Dual 80MM Fan

Crucial Rendition 1GB 1X1GB PC2-5300 DDR2-667 240PIN DIMM Memory *IR-$3*

Total will be: $200.60

I'll be using an OEM case, which I am currently painting and sanded down the logos on it. For the HD, I have some extra 80GBs lying around, but I would perfer a new HD.. Is there anyway to make this build even cheaper to get an HD? (Same with CD/DVD drive)

Oh, and is Mini-ITX enough to run Windows XP and actually be "decently" fast?

Fast enough is how they describe it. Won't be as fast as what you've already put together. Biggest benefit of the Mini-ITX is the small size.

Pricematch this PSU:

Sparkle Power SPI 350W ATX12V 2.0 24/20PINS Power Supply W/ 120MM Ball Bearing Fan - DirectCanada

And the mobo is cheaper too, another pricematch:

Asus M2A-VM Matx AM2 Amd 690G DDR2 PCI-E16 PCI-E1 2PCI Video Vga DVI-D Sound Motherboard - DirectCanada

This Gigabyte isn't a bad alternative:

NCIX.com - Buy Gigabyte GA-MA74GM-S2 AMD740G mATX AM2+ 1PCI-EX 2PCI SATA2 RAID VGA Sound GLAN DVI Motherboard - GA-MA74GM-S2 In Canada.

They have the Black edition of the 5000 for cheaper:

NCIX.com - Buy AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ Dual Core Processor Socket AM2 2.6GHZ Retail Black Box No HSF Unlocked - ADO5000DSWOF In Canada.

Or pricematch this one and save another buck:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ Dual Core Proecessor Socket AM2 2.6GHZ Retail Box - DirectCanada

I'm pretty sure that the black edition procs don't come with a heatsink, so it might not be the best choice for a super inexpensive build.

I'd avoid that logisys PSU like the plague.... :)

Its okay, I'm going to just get the normal 5000+, since I don't need an unlocked proc because I won't be overclocking.

But do you guys know if I can print out my shopping cart, (With the PMs) and order the stuff at NCIX?

What? No overclock on the parents office rig??? LOL, j/k!

Printing from the web page is always touch and go. When I want to print a cart, I'll copy the info off the web page, paste it into and email, mail it to myself and print that.

If you plan to take the printout into ncix to make your order, you may run into a prob with the pricematches... they have to be first approved. That's why it is best to put the order through online.

I think failing that, you may be able to get a contact at ncix that you can email your order to, get the PMs approved, and then pickup the order. You'll need to confirm this somehow, because I think they still need account info to do this (credit card, name, addy, yadda).
