Default My upgrade finally happened

Well, i've used this site/forum for a while but just registered today as I never needed to post before. Right now I felt the need as I have finally purchased my new computer (5 years).

What I'm upgrading from:
Asus A7N8X-Deluxe
Barton 2500+ OC'd to 3200+ sepcs on stock cooling (since I purchased the computer)
120gig IDE/160gig Sata HDD
1 Gig PC3200 'Value' Ram
X-Fi Extreme Gamer (which was a good purchase)
ATi Radeo 9600xt

Now this computer has served me very well. I really can't complain, I bought a PS3 which I use for the grand majority of my gaming. My processor has worked flawlessly OC'd on stock cooling with a load temp of 64C (which never bothered me since it's been 5 years of almost 24/7 use).

To This :)
BFG 9800GT OC
Antec TruePower 650 PSU
G-Skillz pc8500 2gig
Antec P182 (I've wanted this case since I first found out about the P180 and convinced my suitemate to buy it 3 years ago)
E8400
P5Q Pro
Xigmatek Cooler
Seagate 500 gig HDD

Basically the 'standard' build nowadays. I decided to go with the 9800gt since I don't use my computer for gaming as much (though I might start again) but for 89$ I couldn't pass it up. That and I use Linux far more often than I use Windows and ATi support is still terrible for ATi on Linux.

This is a pointless thread but I just had to get the excitement off my chest.

For 760$ after MIR and taxes I'm very happy.

Jr,

Hmm, why don't you put in your sound card from your old computer into your new computer? Its a decent sound card.

Sharing the excitement of a new build is not pointless, at least not around these parts. It's amazing what you can build for the money these days! You are going to love that rig.

Weclome to HWC
