Chances of my Q9550 being EO stepping?

Hey everyone at HWC! I just found this Forum, generally on Anandtech under same name but excited to check this place out also.

I'm really excited over my new build that I just bought (after 4 years!) with Q9550 at DirectCanada today And I heard the new EO stepping (SLB8V) came out on August 22nd. So what do you think the chances are that I got the new one?

In case ou were curious build is:

Q9550
HIS HD4870 512MB-GDDR5
G.Skill 2x2GB DDR2-1000 5-5-5-15
P5Q Pro
OCZ Vendetta 2
Enermax Modu82+ 625Watt
Antec 300 case
Acer X223WBD 22" LCD

Oh and does anyone know if the OCZ vendetta comes with a TIM? If so which one? If not should I replace it with MX-1 or AS5?

The Vendetta 2 came with a no name TIM. If you are still waiting for the parts invest in a bolt through kit and some MX-2 or whatever floats your boat.

Welcome to HWC, hope you enjoy your stay. Yes the Vendetta 2 comes with a small tube of TIM which I presume is MX-2. MX-2 is quite highly regarded by the majority of our Forum members so I would use it...

Might be their Freeze compound. They've been pushing it lately, it seems. What little I've seen suggests that it's a pretty respectable option. If they'd come out with it a few months ago, they might have been able to steal some of the thunder from AC's MX-2.

I think your chance is very small, but inform us when they shipped
