Who is the cable/telephone company you pay each month to provide internet service?

If you are trying to set up a spam filter for a company www.onlymyemail.com is your best bet. It is a monthly charge service but they are the best in the world at spam filtering and not blocking legitimate mail.

My ISP is Videotron, but as I said the email has nothing to do with them...

I don't know why but I was under the impression u could download a program(just like how u'd download an antivirus) and it would help(I'm not asking for perfection) reduce the amount of spam, but I currently use Thunderbird as suggested, so I will see. .

You are going to need to have a good virus program installed.

In regards to spam well you'd have to download a 3rd party app for that.. whats a good one? I don't know you'd have to do your research on that.

You may also look at setting up a dedicate server as a mail server.. could go a linux router and use qmail and have a good spam filter setup that way.

So any incoming mail goes to the mail server than its directed to you.
