Hey guys. I just moved about 5 blocks away from my old place and, lucky me, I went from 6 meg DSL to 3 meg DSL . I 'm not happy, so I'm looking at alternatives until my company gets physical pressence in my area (if they ever do). This is who I am looking at: 1. Cogeco - I don't like rogers, and I don't like cable, and I don't like caps... but if I have no choice 2. Primus - They might have a physical prescense, which means there is a chance I can get ADSL2+ and hopefully reach 6 meg or more (depending on my distance of course) Anyone else have any alternatives in ottawa? I'd rather stick with the company I work for (bell reseller) but i need speed and stability!

We're just east of Peterborough, and we use Persona. I don't know if they service your area, but it might be worth looking into. We've been with them for 2-1/2 years, and have nothing but praise for them. We have 6 mbps/640kbps cable(cable's not bad) for $43.95/month(it shows $46.95 on their site) and no caps. I consistantly DL @ 721kbps..any time of day. Here's a test i just ran.. and all my test are within 1% of this. ![]() GL with whoever you get. |

I vote for Cogeco too. Bell is an EVIL company and they overcharge horribly for everything. I cut their wire off my house because of my extreme dislike for them. I have yet to hit the 60GB download cap and some months I really pull in alot. As people say, caps are pretty much the norm and are going to become the norm very soon. I have the up to 10MB/s plan and I download usually around 1200kb/s. PS: I live in the middle of nowhere too in a town of 9K people. Cogeco rules.......

| I thought it was all. Are there any other DSL carriers in Ontario that have their own equipment? If so, how does that work? They can not be stringing their own phone lines so do they lease space for the DSLAM in the switching stations?
