Default asus rt-ac68u or linksys ea6900 ?

Hi guys. I know this has been up before about going for the
asus rt-ac68 U over other models. I'm looking for a ac router and heard
good and bad from both the asus and linksys? But i really wan't your suggestion
before i buy one of these routers. Is it like most say go for asus and stay away
from Linksys?

Nice forum by the way:):)

Merry chistmas.

Yeah the Asus routers are great and feature packed I have the ac66u very nice had I waited a month I'd have this one. But I'm still extremely happy with the Asus routers haven't bought any other since or recommended any other since.

Linksys seemed to lose their luster once they started pushing their cloud/spyware crap. I'm currently running a Linksys but once it's time to replace it I won't be going back (been holding off on the firmware update that would put the spyware onto it.

Call me paranoid, but I want absolutely nothing to do with cloud computing unless the manu guarantees me that none of my information is stored on, or travels through US territory.

We'll I to don't like idea of cloud computing all the sensitive data flowing from my comp to nsa filters is a not so friendly idea plus all work I share between friends in Edmonton and few other places.

Another vote for the Asus. I believe the cloud stuff became optional after so many people complained about it. Even if we take that out of the equation I find the Linksys to be unreliable and prone to failure since Cisco bought it. Now that it's been sold to Belkin I have even less hopes of it ever becoming what it once was.

I have a linksys and don't have any issues (mine is not an AC router though), and it has never given me an issue, but from what I have read in reviews I would go for the ASUS as well.

Hi guys last update before purchase asus rt ac68u:)

Hi sorry if this seems like double post but have to be sure
before i purchase the asus rt ac68u router. There are some
few things to ad to my question?

My consern is i know nothing about firmware like
merlin ddrwt or what it's called? Is that urgent to get those firmware in a hurry or can i just settle with the
orignal updates on the rt ac68U when they appear?

And finally i use the Netgear cg3000 modem wich also works as a
wireless router and i have to bridge the new asus 68u from the netgear
are there any issues with this setup?

Many questions but i need a little advice
