Default Best wireless card for Cisco DPC3825 DOCSIS 3.0 Gateway

So, for work I had to move away from my lovely London (ontario) home, with my easy to use 100ft ethernet cable and start using wireless.

I'll admit freely this isn't my strong suit. So barbecue I was moving in a hurry and I needed a wireless card for the first week or two that would at least do basic email and web browsing i picked up an Asus PCE-N15.

So I have some free time and I tried to do some gaming on it, haha nope. I notice now that I loose internet connection avery 10minutes to an 1hour intermittenly no matter what I am doing. I do a bit of google searching, get the Newest drivers, turn off the option for letting windows turn off this device to save power.

But I have read this card isn't exactly a gem, so maybe it just sucks. anyone know of a more preferred card for this router. of maybe a m magical option in the advanced tab I'm missing?

did a speed test when the connection was running, 48mbps down, 2 up, 6ms ping. so this thing is working when it wants too!

Cheers,
Adam

in the case of seriousness, where can I get one of those and how much? full bars and I drop every 2 hours except for after a restart when I get 6 hours before I start dropping every 2 hours.

Have you considered powerline Ethernet?

I went whole hog and purchased one of the higher end dual band wireless "N" adapters and while it provided better connectivity / throughput than a cheap one, it still wasn't ideal. Finally ended up picking up a second hand powerline kit and I've been quite happy with it in spite of the fact that it's an older model with slightly slower speeds than recent ones. NCIX has been having a fire sale on some trendnet kits for the last few weeks with kits being priced about the same as what a high end USB wireless adapter would cost you.

Wilson,

I never knew such a thing even existed. Looks like I have some reading to do. Thank you very much for the suggestion!
