Default Trendnet TPL-406E2K powerline kit?

Anybody have hands-on experience with this kit that's on sale at NCIX this week?

TRENDnet TPL-406E2K 500MBPS Powerline AV Ethernet Adapter Kit

$55 is pretty cheap for a powerline kit, and I realize it's only a single 100 port, but my needs aren't all that heavy. I might end up hooking it into a 4 port switch but don't need super high transfer speeds. I'm more concerned with the fact that my upstairs PC seems to lag a lot when playing DIII and I suspect it's due to the wireless connectivity not playing nice with the online server.

NVM.... I received a PM offer I couldn't refuse on a low mileage EOL Trendnet 200MB kit. I'll leave this up though in case anybody actually has some input on the kit since it's a pretty decent price.

;-)

Let me know how it performs, and my end of the deal still stands.

Heh... I'm sure it'll be fine. My biggest concern is the house wiring, but we'll cross that boat when we get to it.

I could always cross ship the old powerline Gen 1 Intelogis Passport I've got sitting in the basement.... IIRC it connects to the PC through the parallel port. Bandwidth was brutal though. :)

I use 4 of those trendnet 500Mbps throughout my condo for the folding and bitcoin rigs plus the network attached tv. Too slow/congested for streaming bluray over the network but otherwise great for everything else. 2 of them have switches and multiple rigs behind them.

I live in a 8 year old house, and could not get this kit too work.

Were you going direct to the wall socket(s)? Trying to go through a powerbar is the only thing I've heard of having a detrimental effect on connectivity with the latest batch of powerline Ethernet. If anything, not being able to get one of these to work (assuming it works in another household and isn't actually broken) in a new(er) home would make me nervous about the wiring in the home.
