Ip cameras
Anyone here with some experience and good suggestion? I'd like to monitor my front parking/front door but I am not able to do so outside as my strata will not let us install a camera on the side of the building. STUPID I know.

I have, with a little googling, discovered that IR will not pentrate windows so I'm left wondering how I am to accomplish outside security.

I'd like to put one inside on the main floor too but I have no idea which one I should be looking at. The dlink ones seem ok except the software is a major pain in the ass apparently.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks. :thumb:

Can you install through an attic and hang on the eaves? Something like this but obviously a real camera? That way it's not on a wall. :-)

as far as which brand, I can't say. I had an installer put some Honeywell units in and they are alright but it's not like you are going to be able to pull a license plate off the image or anything like you see on TV cop shows.

I tried a couple of the wireless trendnet units. Neither works wirelessly for any longer than a day. After that one of them bricked.

Axis makes some of the best IP security cameras and yes they are expensive but they are worth every penny.

They have all kinds of models and they also have accessories to make them very usable.
