Actually no, I try to support the movie makers and video game developers by purchasing it. To be honest there's not that many TV shows I like which factors in haha.

Heh... well, good on you! :)

I'm in the same boat though... even though I don't DL content, much of that is because there's nothing out there (IMO) that would justify it. :)

OTOH, I'd be first to jump back onto a subscription model music service if a Canadian option became available, and would actually consider netflix (canada) if bandwidth was more reasonable.

By restricting bandwidth they successfully keep you as their cable / sat customer.

And then the CRTC or whoever it is that keeps content on Canadian netflix nice and old....

The CRTC isn't the culprit, it's the fact that somebody in Canada purchased broadcast rights and either Netflix isn't interested in pursuing contracts for those in such a small market, or the cable companies don't want to play ball.

It'd be easy to lay all of the blame at the feet of the cable companies, but then I look at the fact that we don't have a full fledged subscription music service in Canada and suspect the size of the market has a lot to do with it as well.

Well to be honest I'm not completely sure, but until that day I'm still not going to watch cable tv even though I pay for it.

I'll just torrent the content at the time and quality I choose, with no annoying commercials.

I tried Netflix, it sucks. None of the things I want to see are available (but US gets it.) They're might be 1 or 2 things I've watched on it but other than that, I'm glad that I had the free month trial.
