Limit mirc dcc download speed I need to find a way to limit the bandwidth mirc's dcc is using, it is sucking all the available small connection I have here at the house (when it is in use). I tried Netlimiter, but it is actually killing mirc's entire connection and not just limiting it. I've looked in the options and everything I could find did not resolve the issue. Is there any other programs out there besides Netlimiter? Or anything else..scripts..plugins for mirc? |
What about your router? Any decent QOS for it? |
you must have seriously shitty internet for that to happen. |
Ugghhh this freaking Belkin N150 doesn't have QOS (always one thing that ends up missing from a perfectly good working modem/router). enaberif - 3.5Mbps on most nights. I am actually extremely thankful to have this much out here. But always looking forward to the new cabinet in 2014. The old one I am on, the ports are limited to 3.5...even though the line connection info says it could do 8mbps. |

You sure nobody is torrenting in the house? |

I've seen my mirc dcc/gets/downloads maxed my connection. |
What type of Internet service is this? What's your upload speed? As enaberif is saying, downloading alone should not cripple the network. It's only when the upload is saturated that it does this. Sounds like you should just buy a decent router that has QoS though. |
