Ok let's start from the beginning.

Click Start, click Computer, on the left hand side, click Network.

Can you see your other computer under Network? If yes click on it and the shared folder should be there.

Alright, when I changed the Computer Name on my Laptop and Desktop Homegroup started working, I was able to join it on my Laptop. Also under Network when I open up Computer I see both computers. Now I have another problem. I'm trying to access the files on my laptop from my desktop but it keeps saying Windows cannot access. I have them shared.

Don't know why but now it's letting me see all my files on both computers and transfer them. Weird how it doesn't just work right away. O well I'm happy now. Thanks everyone for your help.
