Default Router dying?

I have a old Belkin wireless G router, i am stumped on what is causing the problem.
I get disconnected randomly through wireless but connecting through Ethernet cable works perfectly fine. (Ethernet works fine during the wireless outage)
Most of the time when i restart the router (power on/off), it becomes working fine again.

Some sort of interference or is my router dying or something else?

could be interference? are there a lot of wireless networks in your area? You might try changing to a different channel on your router and see if that helps

I'd say run this: Download inSSIDer and Discover the Wi-Fi Networks Around You | MetaGeek

And figure out which channel is the least used, then set your router to that channel. It's likely your router is set to "Auto Channel Scan" which would explain why it works when you reboot it.

Also if you have 2.4GHz cordless phones in your house, I'd suggest upgrading to 5.8GHz or DCET6.0 sets instead.

But it could very well be the router itself too. I wouldn't say Belkin is the best name in the market, and especially if it's been in service for a while. Could be that the wireless radios have overheated and no longer work 100%.

From what i've seen router seems to have an average life of 5 - 6 years. I replaced a lot of WRT54G these past weeks. All of them wouldn't keep a connections. The lights would be a lot darker and constantly blinking. But check your channels first.
