Default Question about internet access in a rural area

I will be moving out to a bunkhouse in a provincial park in northern alberta. The house has a satellite dish, which I believe is Starchoice, as well as landline telephones. I would like to have the internet out there, and I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to get internet through the satellite or the phone.

Check the cell reception. I have a Telus HSPA+ usb stick for internet, gets about 5mbp down 2mbps up. But you do need decent reception. Decent for surfing, but they're biggest plan is 5gb so couple torrents a month is all you can manage.

Thanks for your help guys. Sounds like I will be internet free this summer. It will probably be good for me. Its too bad the Satellite can't do it from anywhere.

Actually most smart phone can tether, its not just the iPhone. When it took Bell an extra week to send a technician to set up our internet at our current apartment, we had no internet so we tethered our two smart phones (not iCraps, Samsung Omnia 1 and Galaxy S) and used the internet that way. That is an potential option.

Yes, but that should have been taken care of with comments #3 and #4, not some useless random iPhone comment a month too late.
