Drive Sharing in Vista
If I add an additional HDD to my Vista PC, can I share the entire volume on my home network to run backups for the other 2 networked PC's (one Vista, the other XP)?
There appears to be an issue with sharing, as the network shows the new drive as "shared", the other PC's on the network see it, but there is a denial when you attempt to attach from the non client PC's. The permissions are set for full access on the network, but I think there is a NTFS condition to meet.
What's wrong here?

Regarding the permission, please ensure the following in the properties of the drive:
1) On the “Sharing” tab and click “Advanced Sharing”，in the new opened window, click permissions and see if the “Everyone” exists and “Full control” has been checked.
2) On the “Security” tab and check if the object “Everyone” exists. If not, please add it first and then check if the “Full control” has been checked.
Do you have item number 2 set? That's your NTFS condition. And if you are using password protected sharing in your Vista PC, the username and password used to connect to a share must be set up as a user on your Vista PC.
