How much is the Tekksavy?

If it is the same, it'd be worth it if just for the double upload speed. 512kb/s is kind of sketchy for online gaming, which I do a lot of.

200GB per month is also a nice sexy upgrade from my current 60...
512 is plenty fine for online gaming IMO.
Tek packages vary. Their most expensive is $55/15mbit/1mbit/unlimited bandwidth.

Not sure if it is a problem with your isp or not.
- If you have to computers load bittorrent on your main machine and when the slow down occurs do a speed test on the second machine. That will rule out the computer.
- Second if your results are the same take out your router and direct connect to your gateway. Test speed and surfing. If it is slow on both machines still the try resetting you cable modem(unplug it and then restart computer) and then try again.
You could have a bad modem. (i assume rogers is a docsis modem?) Have rogers swap the modem. If the results are the same it is your isp.

you also need to limit your upload speed to about 50-75% of your maximum, else your line will become saturated.
I'll say it again. Get rid of Bitcomet. I used to have all kinds of similar issues with my connection before I switched. I don't now, and it's the same router and modem.

For your service, with TekSavvy and 200GB, you'd only be paying $37 + tax. To upgrade to 15/1 it's $43 + tax. Only slight issue is the first month's bill will be quite high with the modem purchase and setup fee.

But I'm not sure if they're active in Oshawa yet.

The WRT-160N is the crappiest router I ever bought / used / set up. I found that it is prone to many disconnects and slow speeds. I used that model for a customer of mine, and it would drop connections ~10 times a day (wired and wireless), and it never allowed the download speeds as advertised by his ISP (Videotron).

All my customers now use the DIR-655 from D-Link (as I do), and no more issues since.

reboot your router and modem and then do it again, see if there's a difference.
