You should look at Powerline adapters, can get a little pricey, but faster that wireless. YouTube - Powerline vs Wireless vs Ethernet Networking (NCIX Tech Tips #52) Here's Linus talking about it.

But if you just prefer wireless after all, PCI-E is the way to go.

I have found that USB adapters are JUNK. They cut out a lot and they are nowhere as powerful as their PCI counterparts.

I would suggest either a Ethernet Wireless Bridge instead of you cannot go PCI.
