Default Nvidia First Packet Issue on XFX 680i LT

Hi all. I have all the most recent nvidia drivers installed for my board and when I enable the First Packet settings under network in the Nvidia control panel I always end up with an error upon reboot that is an nvappfilter failure. I assume this is related to the drivers/software trying to filter which programs should be given `first packet` priority by the settings. I am running Vista 64 bit with all the updates on a 680i LT XFX board with the Network Management software installed. Here is the text of the error:

Talked to XFX support about this and they decided finally that it was most likely a software issue. So any ideas?

Yeah Ive got some ideas: Do not use the first packet software Seriously. Its junk and really doesnt prioritize any better then you could set up with a (good) router. If it does actually shave any milliseconds off your gaming, its probably minuscule anyways.

Save yourself the grief.

Bingo. If you want better network performance, buy yourself a dedicated Intel or 3Com NIC.

as others have said...

1) onboard nvidia nic is absolute trash
2) their firewall/packet software is up there with shaw secure and telus e-care for being a pile.

I always purposely never installed it. Earlier revisions of the software would cause BSODs.
