Post Traffic shaping softwares

Hi all, just wondering if any of you have ever experienced using a traffic shaping software? One of my friends introduced me to this particular software [cfosspeed]. I just want to know how safe/useful is it?
Thanks for your time everyone.

Why? All I can think of is limiting torrent downloads, which if you use a decent torrent client, you can do within it.

If you want to traffic shape your whole network, you'd need something router based anyways. Most modern routers have QoS engines that prioritize traffic that you define, or automatically.
