Question WinV x64 & WinXP x32: How Do I Connect Through The Network

How do I connect to my WinXP x32 netbook from WinV x64, it is showing up in the Network & Sharing Centre on WinV, but everytime I double click on it it's asking for a username & password, I didn't setup WinXP on the netbook with a password, so my username for it should suffice, should it not?

I do not have XP x64 at all, the netbook I have has XP Home x32; my desktop computer has Vista Home Premium x64.

So, I am not sure if it'll assign the same IP when I have it wired into the modem/router when I am not using wireless.

EDIT: Well, it turns out, the netbook when on wireless does not show up under "Network" on my Vista computer, but only shows up when wired to the router; there's got to be some way to make it show up regardless if it's wired in or not.
