Default WiFi network finder

Is there a good program that will find WiFi network/hotspots to connect to? I'm going up north to my in-laws farm this weekend and since its a very rural area, I was wondering if there is a program that you can use to find wireless networks to connect to? I doubt very much I will find any, but I'd like to try.

Weird, it worked on the Acer laptop I had last year, I may try it on the netbook I just got yesterday. Are your drivers up to date? Best thing to do also, would be to post about the problem in their official forum.
