So I turned off the DHCP on my WTRG this morning to see if I could share folders by letting my main router serve the IP and I borked my setup and had to start fresh LOL.
The worst of it is, I had the thing backed up too, on my wife's laptop and she has it out of town for a week...
If you need a hand don't hesitate to ask.

+1 to the repeater idea as it is essentially what you want to do anyways and should prove hopefully to be the least headache route

I can't stress enough the importance of saving your settings often to the hard drive. I think I restored mine half a dozen times initially.

Success!
I am able to share printers/folders and files over the wireless bridge using the instructions here.

I got the repeater up and running but haven't yet tested file sharing. It's not a major concern as anything connected to the repeated network will likely never need to share files anyway (i primarily share files for streaming to the ps3). I'll try setting up the bridged repeater later if anyone decides they need it.

It was a little stubborn at first and i thought i bricked it at one point but eventually I got it just the way I wanted with the right security settings, SSID and router IPs. I now have wireless through ~80% of the house which is more than we will ever need.

Thanks a lot for all your help.

If it is a repeater, then there shouldn't be any issues with filesharing between computer as it will be on the same subnet. Assuming that it is properly configured as a repeater.
