iSCSI NAS - 60 MB/s+ - Idea ?
Hello,
I'm trying to get a iSCSI NAS that can do 60 MB/s+ (best to be around 100 MB/s) in read/write for running two web servers. Will have about 2-3TB (Like 4 x 750GB or 1TB Western Digital RE3 series).
I don't really want to pay 15k$+ for a Dell M3000i or something like that.
I have some idea :
1) Buying a NAS, like the NETGEAR ReadyNAS NVX or QNAP TS-509 or TS-436 and do local disk R-Sync.
2) Using my two actual PC, create a VM in each, install Open-E DSS V6 (or some other Software NAS that replicate), create a iSCSI Target on it, then connect the Xen into the "VM iSCSI" so I have a datastore. Like seanodes does.
3) Building my own NAS. That's where you come in ! Any idea of setup that will be powerfull and not too costly ?
