Default Help me upgrade my network

Hi, as title say, i need a network upgrade...

i never upgrate since... 2004??.... still have an DI-524(yes it is still running but it's on her las life lolll)

my network is simple, i check to update 2 parts, router and nic

for nic i think i will go with the intel pro/1000 ct(the pcie version)

but for router, in my knowleage, the the di-524 is still a beast loll

i need wireless but dont need anything fancy, 9remember the 524 do the job, so i think any new wireless router will do the job for that..)
i need a good router for gaming, but with less cost

what will be the best for me?

Thanks
Phil

If you're buying a Gigabit NIC, you should get a Gigabit router IMO. However it sounds like you don't have any other wired computers, so I guess it's pointless since you won't be sharing files between them. You probably shouldn't even bother getting the NIC at all unless your PC doesn't have one onboard.

If you use your wireless a lot, you may want to consider a 802.11n router though you'd need to get a matching NIC for the PCs that are wireless to fully utilize it.

My System Specs

Default

ASUS Wl-520GU + DD-WRT

Also consider getting the Buffalo WHR-HP-G54.

These routers are the bomb, especially the Buffalo. The router's excellent, and added with DD-WRT, you got an unbeatable router.
