Default Shaw internet (bc): anyone get an email regarding a speed increase?

i have received two reports from not-so-technical people that they received emails from shaw internet in bc (one on vancouver island, on in poco) regarding a speed increase that they are supposedly getting for free at some point soon. i havnt got a mail about it yet myself and was wondering if anyone knows anything more? (like when, where and how much of an increase specifically)

thanks

Don't worry about the email.

Just check speedtest as everyone is getting the update, some areas are just slower than others.

ya I recieved the email I really don't care about the faster speed I just wished that they could fix the lag it is really bad at times for online gaming if it isn't local. I get pings up to and just over 400 at times if I play on any server in east. Stupid Shaw

Yup its is definitely true.

Though since the switch I have been having some wierd fluctuations. Like Squee, I used to sit at a constant 10mb/s - Now I peak at 15mb/s but it drops down to 10mb/s and then goes back up. Much like a wave. It doesn't drop or spike sharply either. Takes a couple second to hit the bottom, stays there for a minute or so, then goes back up, and stays there for a minute or so two.

Really really weird, given that it used to just be a flat line.

Oh looky looky, I did get the email! Going from 5 Mbps to 7.5 Mbps is all good imo. I was actually getting around 6 Mbps before so it will be interesting to see how much more I get.
