Default Setting up Linksys WRT54GL

Hi there i just finally got my router today and i was wondering if i should flash it with the Tomato/MLPPP first before setting it up to my network or the other way around.

Nodscene was a pal and sent me the link to the Tomato/MLPPP site Tomato/MLPPP

Do yeall recommend a certain fix for me?? Cheers

I would set it up as is - to make sure it works as is. I doubt Linksys' warranty covers it's products when using 3rd party software

I'd use DD-WRT.

I've loaded DD-WRT on my WRT54GSv7 and it gt bricked for some reason. I sent it back to Linksys and they gave me a free replacement no questions asked. I just told them that there was a problem when I was updating the firmware, thus making it bricked.

as far as i know i think the fixppp version of tomato is the only one to support mlppp. make sure that you tell teksavvy that your doing mlppp so you get put on the mlppp list so you get onto the right erx.

Are you sure you even have to call Teksavvy, mine is working beautifully right now and I didnt make a call to them.

Yes, only the fixppp version of Tomato has the mlppp option from what Ive read so far.

Id make sure the linksys works first, then backup the original firmware, then install the new firmware. Make sure to read the directions though as it wants some things done first. All in all it was pretty forward to setup.

That definitely could be it. I'm hoping to get a second connection from them one of these days :)
