If your going to go 802.11n, I'd get one that's dual-band. Neither of those are.

D-Link DIR-825 Xtreme N Dual Band Gigabit Router

D-Link DIR-628 RangeBooster N Dual Band Router

Linksys.com ? Products/Wireless/Basic Networking/Broadband Routers/Wireless-N (draft 802.11n)/WRT610N

Get something on this list. Supported Devices - DD-WRT Wiki I just traded a broken WRT45G for a WRT310N for freeeeee. Glad i know people who work @ Futureshop.

Don't forget Tomato for the WRT54G series.

I've used a lot of the different firmwares and enjoyed that one the most.

Linksys WRT54GL or ASUS WL-520GU. Both can use the full version of DD-WRT.

Gameplaywarrior October 10, 2008 07:21 PM

What version do I flash for the ASUS WL-520GU?

Meh, WRT54G is fine if you want something cheap, but the D-Link DIR-625 hands down a better router.

I upgraded from a WRT54G w/ DD-WRT that I had used for several years to the DIR-655 and don't regret it one bit. The DIR-655 walks all over it in every aspect. The DIR-625 has all the same features as the 655, but with less range, no GbLAN, and less onboard memory ...

The DIR-615, on the other hand, is a piece of shit.
