If you want to extend and watch microsoft friendly codecs then get a 360 and use the media center extender feature. If you want to stream videos from windows shares:

- Use XBMC for PC or MAC to stream
- Install media center on the PC connected to the TV, mount the shares, and install the special codes into MCE (it can take some work to do this sometimes)

Thats what I do.

You can run a quick soft mod to get it to play all video types including MKV HD content.
I use it and am in love with it.
When it says DivX, it's DivX only or DivX + Xvid?

This one looks like the best solution so far. And the price looks pretty impressive too, for futureshop ;o!

Usually their price is always twice the online price, but this time, it even beats newegg?

You can actually find a tweak online that allows you to play almost everything, including HD mkv content.
