They use Voice over DOCSIS which is somewhat similar to voip but not exactly. Echo and spitting on voip is due to connectivity issues, do you have an issue?

What doesn't make sense is that it gets worse the further it gets... does it happen on incoming calls as well? I can test it with you if you like. I work for a voip/isp so longdistance isn't an issue.

I'm willing to test it out, but if it was just a connectivity issue, wouldn't I experience the same effect on local calls?

Thats why it's odd. Its also odd because its not just echo you'd experience.. and it wouldn't be more and more as you get further. Want to PM me your number? I'm at work for a little bit, I got time.

Cheator was kind enough to give me a shout to verify that I didn't have any issues with a line to Ottawa. (pretty close to clear as a bell).

He's also suggested that I check out the lines by plugging directly into the modem so I'm going to do some local testing to see if I can duplicate the snag.

The most pronounced echos I've recieved have been from a certain on-line retailer out west, so it's possible that it's a combination of their setup with the use of headsets.

Thanks for all of your suggestions.
