The LG P300 13.3" laptop for gaming...what's your opinion? LG P300-U.APB3A9: Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 @ 2.1GHz (3MB cache, 800MHZ FSB) Intel PM965 Express Chipset 4GB DDR2 PC2-5300 (667MHz) + 1GB Intel Turbo Memory NVIDIA 8600M GS (256MB) w/ HDMI 320GB 5400RPM SATA hard drive External DVD Super Multi Dual Layer drive 13.3" WXGA (1280x800) LED Backlit LCD WiFi (802.11a/g/n), Bluetooth (v2.0+EDR), and gigabit ethernet Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 6-cell (Li-Ion) battery 3.5lbs $1399 (regularly $1599) As an ultra-portable, the only thing that came close was the Dell XPS M1330, but that model only has a 128MB 8400M GS. What do you think? From what I can tell, the P300 is only available in Asia, Europe, and Canada. In Canada: Future Shop: Computers: Laptops: LG Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 2.1GHz Laptop (P300) - Future Shop Exclusive I know the page says $1599.99 but they actually have it priced at $1399.97 in the store (I was there today). In terms of graphics performance on an ultra-portable, is there anything that comes close to the P300? This is the first time I see mid-class graphics on anything 13.3". I don't even think that there are too many 14" units that can match it... |
It would game pretty well i think, mostly medium settings of course. I was llooking at that laptop but it was a little above my budget. I purchased the M1330 w/o the 8400 since i read that the 8 series portable cards are over heating and breaking. I opted to keep the integrated, and even in WC3 menu my mouse is lagging around, i havent tried playing a game. And WC3 is the least demanding game ever so, i guess deff no gaming on this thing. |
At that res, you'd can definitely play games well on it. Good choice. |

Though that LG one looks rather nice spec wise. Should be able to handle some light gaming. |
