Should I buy this laptop without it being on sale?

I'm looking to purchase a laptop from Best Buy. It's price is $999.99. My dilemma is whether or not to buy it without it being on sale, or if I should even be considering this model at all. Best buy has new sales every week, and if I buy it now without it being on sale, they will give me the discount at a later time if it does go on sale within 2 weeks of my purchase. However it may not go on sale within that time period. I am also wondering if $999.99 for this laptop is already a deal.

I noticed that the Hard Drive Speed/Capacity is smaller than the one I was looking at. Will this impact the performance much? I noticed it also doesn't have discrete video memory.

meh, that very slight difference costs an extra $350

actually the graphics spec is exactly the same, only the HDD size/speed is different, speed wise you won't notice much
unless your really picky about those things.

Thanks. I would like at least 250, preferably 320 Hard Drive Speed/Capacity, 4gb ram and Discrete Video Memory but yeah, I don't want to pay way too much just for that stuff. Do you know of anything with those features for under $1000? I may have to consider your recommendation though...it seems to get quite a lot for $650

external hdd aren't that much. if you put it together yourself you can get an enclosure for $30 and a WD 250GB hdd for $55

for a while on my old system I was even installing games on a USB hdd drive, they played okay.
