Default Dash Cams (seriously)

Ok I have been reading and reading and reading about dash cams and I still can't decide which one is suitable.
I looked at this one until I read the reviews on Amazon. Apparently they have some serious issues with not staying on English and keep switching back to South Korean.
Lukas LK-7950 WD

The dashcam review site raved about it but with recent firmware updates apparently this thing is just a 1 star cam now.

I was also considering this one https://www.massdrop.com/buy/blacksy...ch-dash-camera but after the exchange it's gonna be pricey and no guarantees. The reviews are mixed.

With the area of town I live in and my wife about to start driving regularly I really need to do something. People around here have a history of trying to blame others aggressively or try to get away with it (hit and run) and I'd rather she had a leg to stand on so people don't try and screw her over.

I thrive on user reviews so if anyone has some good suggestions I'm all ears. I don't care about GPS location but I would like a hardwired setup to record hit and runs with battery protection.

Thanks.

I usually recommend people to start with a cheap G1W-C ($50) or A118 ($100) and see if they do the job.

When you get more into it, or want more advanced features or better image quality then you can start going for the $200+ cameras with Sony Exmor sensors and/or multichannels. I've been using a G1W-H (battery version) from Aliexpress for a few years and it's been holding up well for my short trips to the train station. My Wife's car has a really old BlackVue with a PowerMagic Pro to handle the continuous power/parking modes.

Default Car Cam

I picked up a car camera a couple years ago off of EBay. I was pissed that NA dealers were selling all their cameras modular (ie GPS addon for extra). This is a mirror attached unit which is absolutely loaded with features. Has been working flawlessly ever since. I guess I picked it up around 2013/14 or there about. It takes gorgeous video simultaneously front and back while you drive. The voice is female Chinglish which is not bad. I always wanted to get a second unit but currently just flip the mirror unit between 2 vehicles (hoping the price would come down). Very neat piece of kit and highly recommend. The H700 was the most featured set available and would buy again.
