Default Kit Kat hits the upgrade circuit

Just got the kit Kat upgrade to my v1 Nexus 7, and have to admit I've been looking forward to it. Haven't played with it much yet though.

Anybody running the manual install version?

Might just be a placebo effect, but it does feel snappier. Supposedly less mem requirements, but I thought this was the first trim enabled update, yet I've come across a trim review suggesting it was enabled in 4.3.

Trim WAS part of 4.3 but 4.4 is better on older hardware.

I WISH. It would be an awesome upgrade to my SGSII, but pretty sure it's confirmed I WON'T be getting it :(. I'll have to look at installing a custom ROM with Kit-Kat.

Running TWRP on my S4, but stock Bell rom, rooted of course. Wondering if I should get stock recovery back in anticipation for the Bell 4.3 rollout tomorrow.

Oh right, this is a 4.4 thread...I'll come back in the New Year :)

To be honest, making the SII a bit faster would be a bonus.. my issue is more around battery life. I hear 4.4 is much better on battery than previous versions.

If it is I may actually try a custom rom considering my phone is finally out of warranty.
