They have problems clogging up with dust but as long as it is properly maintained it is fine.

oh that dust... no worry.. my mother is cleaner than you thought ;]

sooo how good is this laptop? value?

my mom is not computer expert... she just wants to watch some media on the internet browser and do word or excel for her job... oh course she likes to use skype to see her relationship oversea...

she also didnt carry this laptop outside of the house... so the battery or weight is not big deal...

It's okay I mean she probably could ha e found it a bit cheaper but it should last her 3-4 years if she takes care of it... tell her not to leave it plugged in and on all the time or the battery will be pooched in 2 years.

You have to absolutely baby the laptop if you get a G6. They are extremely plastic-y and the heatsink does clog every easily. Also the fact that the trackpad on most of the newer consumer line HP's are beyond horrible.

alright i already informed her... about dust and stuff...

and touchpad is not bad as you thought..

last thank you for your honestly feedbacks... i think she should be fine...

With regards to the touchpad, I deal with a wide variety of laptops on a daily basis at work since I do computer repair. Personally I find HP's recent offerings are absolutely horrid (DV5/6/7, 2000, G5/6/7, G56/57/60/61/62), only behind those of the old Dell Latitude D600's. If you get to play with one of HP's ProBooks or EliteBooks, you'll immediately notice a difference. With all that said though, most people haven't really used a nice trackpad. I just figured I'd give a heads up about it. :thumb:
