New laptop for up to $1000... help, please

Hello everyone, I am looking for a new laptop. Which manufacturers are the best, DELL, ASUS, Toshiba, Acer, Lenovo, Samsung, MSI, HP? I have found many different opinions and have been given many different advices. Can you suggest me what to buy? My budget is about $1000, but I can stretch it a little bit if it is necessary. I can go up to $1100.
My requirements are:
1. Quad core processor, i7 if possible, with 2.3 GHz or better
2. min 6 GB DDR3, i would like 8 gb
3. 17.3" or bigger LED screen with min resolution of 1600x900px (FullHD if possible)
4. GeForce GT635 or better
5. HDD: 640 GB or more, I don't need SSD, only one HDD would be enough.

I will not use it only for gaming. I need it for school (computer science), for programming, video and images editing (Sony vegas, Photoshop...), web browsing and, occasionally, some high-end games (far cry 3, bf3, crysis...) not at high details.

Any suggestion will help me, I appreciate any help.

Take a look at my thread from last week... I did go for a W520, but you'll have a good idea what's out there from posts.

ok, but maybe we dont have same requirements, I gave more details and I asked generally about laptop manufacturers. thank you it will help me.
