Was looking for some more options in terms of x86 tablets. Asus Vivotab, Acer Iconia W700, and Samsung Ativ Smart PC seem to all hit the criteria. The Samsung looks particularly interesting... Just some suggestions for anyone looking for a full Windows tablet.

I own a MacBook air and it's a 13" I purchase it in November when I already have a good idea of the spec of the Surface pro. I will not get a smaller screen for sure.

The Acer W700, while having better battery life, doesn't have pen-input and it's keyboard solution isn't as clean as the Surface Pro, especially for travelling.

We also had a Surface RT at work too (for a VP) and it looked like a decent device. It was a bit clunky though and the Surface Pro is even thicker/heavier. You'll likely want to find a MS Store to go take a look at it first before buying.

I'm personally not sold on Windows 8 tablets currently. If you honestly see yourself using it in tablet mode frequently, then go for it. Otherwise, stick to the tried and true laptop design.
