laptop buying advice

I'm buying a laptop for a friend, who is partial to HP.

So I've got 2 choices, almost identical except for the processor and the place of purchase.

This one for $500 from costco:
HP Pavilion g6-2253ca Notebook PC (C2L80UA) specifications - HP Home & Home Office Products

This one from BestBuy for $480:
HP Pavilion g6-2288ca Notebook PC (C2N59UA) specifications - HP Home & Home Office Products

Both have 8G ddr3 ram, 750gig hd, almost identical specs except the costco one has an intel i5-3210m cpu and the bestbuy has an amd a10-4600m apu.

Costco also has a 2 year warranty, bestbuy just has hp's standard 1 year warranty.

The lappy will be mostly for standard day to day stuff (email, banking, surfing, personal photos, movies to tv through hdmi) and some website maintenance. I'm pretty sure the i5 is better in most applications, but I wonder if the a10 would be better for hdmi viewing on a 40" tv?

Also would the extra year warranty through COstco be worth it? Anyone have experience with this warranty?

If you are set on having one of them, I'd take the Costco one myself with the i5.

That's what I ended up getting for her. I'll be opening and setting it up later tonight.

The lady at Costco said we have 90 days to return it to the store, no questions asked. After the 90 days if there are any problems we call Costco's 1-800 number and they handle it for us, either with HP or pay for local repair. Sounds good.
