gaming laptop opinions needed. THX!

Probably 2k to spend on a laptop next spring but I wanted to get more familiar with gaming laptops as they are something I know very little about.

Currently we have an asus g53J which is reasonably decent 460m gpu in it. I upgraded the HDD to an SSD of course but that's about it. We got an amazing deal on thing so we grabbed it. It plays diablo 3 nicely along with some other games.

I'm not particularly fond of this computer there are a few things about it I really don't like.

-keyboard is awkward for gaming
-mouse left click control key on the keyboard (seriously asus?)
-screen verticals and horizontals are terrible
-no easy volume control in game (another fail)
-no disable the windows key other than a reg hack. (very annoying to hit while playing)
-ALL the main connections are on the right side of the computer... it's so much easier when those things aren't RIGHT beside the mouse... duh. (serious fail here... really)

I'd like to find another brand that has a better screen... it really is the key for me here. I reckon I could overlook some other caveats if I had a better V/H. I want to be able to share a video or something with others without them having to be sitting in my lap to view it properly.

Maybe if asus has something better in other versions I'd consider it for sure. Maybe this is as good as it gets... I dunno that's why I'm asking you people! :-)

Thanks for your time. :canadianwave:

Alienware's are pretty overpriced compared to the Sager's/Clevo's for example a comparable 17 inch laptop (The Dell Online Store: Build Your System) Comes with 4 gb more of ram for Alienware but instead of SLI GTX 670m's you get a single GTX 660m and alienware charges you $600 to get a GTX 680m instead which still leaves you behind the SLI 670's.

As for the OP question about screens, some of our screens can be upgraded to (Full HD LED-Backlit Display featuring 90% NTSC Color Gamut in Super Glossy Surface (1920 x 1080))

Cheers

Diablo 3 running at 5mp on a MBPR...

Gaming On: Macbook Pro With Retina Display! [HD] (Diablo 3) - YouTube

Cost is $2200 ($2k flat if you are a student) but you can't beat that screen.
